Honda E-Clutch. Next Level Riding.

Now on the 500, 650 and 750 Series.

Part of the Honda DreamTech rider-focused innovations, E-Clutch is the evolution of manual transmission – engineered so every ride feels instinctive, effortless and built for pure enjoyment.

What began with the CB650R and CBR650R now drives the CB750 Hornet, XL750 Transalp and the 500 range into the next generation.

Honda E-Clutch works with Throttle By Wire (TBW) on the 750's for even smoother, more intuitive shifting. And with E-Clutch now available on the CB500 Hornet, CBR500R and NX500, A2 riders get to experience next-level control too.

How Honda E-Clutch Works

E-Clutch keeps the feel of a manual gearbox but manages the clutch for you. An actuator inside the engine cover coordinates clutch operation, fuel-cut and ignition timing for fast, smooth, shock-free shifts.

Prefer manual clutch? Use it any time. E-Clutch pauses while you take control and reactivates automatically, or can be turned off entirely via the TFT.

On the CB750 Hornet and XL750 Transalp, E-Clutch links with TBW and riding modes, adding extra smoothness and stability – especially when starting, cornering or riding over rough surfaces.

Performance shifting, evolved

On the 750s, E-Clutch and TBW work together for precise downshift blipping and smoother engagement. Advanced clutch control helps reduce rear-wheel hop over surface gaps and keeps the bike stable during hard deceleration.

Across the 500, 650 and 750 series, pedal-only shifting, similar to a quickshifter is fast and intuitive, with just 2kg added to the bike – keeping agility exactly where it should be.
