Statistics released by the MCIA for July have shown continued dominance in the electric bike market for Super Soco with year-to-date registrations continuing to smash records, proving that the appetite for electric has never been higher.

With both consumers and businesses looking at ways to reduce carbon emissions and costs and, as a result, sales are up by a monumental 450% on last year!

In fact, Super Soco currently represents over a quarter of the entire electric motorcycle market and continues to be the leading electric brand in the motorcycle sector by a considerable margin.

In June, Super Soco also became the first electric motorcycle brand to sell over 500 units of one model in a single year with the CPx maxi scooter, and the TC Max café racer-style motorcycle has also seen a 150% increase in sales compared to 2020.

While Super Soco continues to promote its range to existing motorcyclists, we’re also recognising the interest in the brand from non-riders who are keen to make the switch to two wheels. In July, for example, the brand showcased the range at the mecca of all things petrol-powered, the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Despite expecting a sceptical reaction from the Goodwood crowd, the Super Soco team found the opposite response, with non-motorcyclists proving very receptive to the brand and the idea of an electric two-wheeler as an alternative transport for urban commuting.

“While our sales figures are looking incredibly strong, we are not resting in our laurels in terms of promoting the brand, both within motorcycling and to a more diverse audience,” explains Super Soco UK Marketing and Social Media Manager, James Archibald. “We didn’t know what to expect at Goodwood, but we were very pleasantly surprised. In fact, non-motorcyclists were actually far more open to the idea of electric vehicles than motorcyclists tend to be and needed very little convincing of the benefits of EV ownership.

“We came away feeling really positive about the future of electric motorcycles and scooters and with a good number of leads for people wanting to test ride the Super Soco models throughout our dealer network. The event showed us that there is a real market out there for non-riders looking to switch to two wheels, which is great news for the industry overall.”
