Honda's 2016 "X” line-up

  • Substantial changes for NC750X and CB500X for 2016

  • Refreshed "X” line-up completes Honda's crossover family range with common design theme through CB500X, NC750X, VFR800X Crossrunner and VFR1200X Crosstourer

Honda Motor Europe is pleased to announce a range of upgrades for 2016 for three of its crossover- styled 'X' modelsthe CB500X, NC750X and VFR1200X Crosstourer.


Since its debut in 2012, the all-round practicality and performance of the NC750X (originally NC700X) has seen it consistently in Europe's top ten best-selling motorcycles.

For 2016 substantial upgrades include:

  • A comprehensive design change for a more rugged, adventurous look in common with Honda's other "X' crossover models
  • LED headlights and taillights
  • 70mm taller windscreen for reduced rider fatigue
  • Three levels of S mode for the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) version to cover a wider range of riding scenarios and styles
  • New Showa "dual-bending” valve front fork for optimal linear suspension behavior on both compression and rebound; pre-load adjustable rear shock
  • Increased helmet storage area (21 to 22 litres), situated where the fuel tank is on standard models
  • New compact lightweight muffler producing a deeper note for the distinctive pulse created by its 745cc parallel twin engine with 270 degree phase crank.


Honda's A2 licence-friendly crossover-styled machine with free-revving, frugal power unit receives a host of rider-focussed upgrades for 2016, including: 

  • 100mm taller windscreen for even greater rider protection
  • LED lights front and rear
  • Pre-load adjustable front suspension, adjustable brake lever and revised gear shift mechanism for improved gear change feel

VFR1200X Crosstourer

The flagship of Honda's X range, the V4-engined adventure sports tourer has a number of updates for 2016.

  • New adjustable windscreen, easily operated with one hand, that allows fine adjustments of screen height
  • Three levels of S mode for the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) version to cover a wider range of riding scenarios and styles. Software upgrades that allow the machine to detect uphill and downhill slopes and adjust its shift pattern accordingly. The DCT option has been chosen by the majority of VFR1200X Crosstourer customers since 2014.
  • EURO4-compliant engine
  • A new Special Edition colour of Candy Prominence Red and Graphite Black (pictured)

Following on from the VFR800X Crossrunner's comprehensive upgrade for 2015, these changes complete a common design theme for Honda's crossover X line-up, while substantially raising all-round practicality, performance and ownership experience.
